Hello all,
First, let me say that this site is just what the doctor ordered for me. I first visited this site about three months ago and have already saved plenty of money with information I have learned. Thanks to all. Second, I own a 97 f150 4.6 with approx. 64k and it has been great until now. But now, I have a problem. When I come to a "brief" stop or yeild and take off again, it seems that the driveshaft spins freely for about 3/4 of a turn then catch. Which means that there is a jerking motion once it catches. One Ford dealership rebuilt the rear end and repacked the slip-yoke. Another tells me that is with the "allowable hesitation range" (which I have not been able to find any information on that.) and that there is nothing that can be done about it. He claims that some of the 2000 models hesitate worse than mine!!! Can you beleive that. Has anyone dealt with this and if you have, HELP because this is going to drive me crazy!!
Hi, I have a '97 with about 80,000 miles. I think I remember the same problem when it was new, and they had to put in a new (desihned) yoke. Ask them to look it up & see if there is a TSB ahout it. (techicnal service bulliten)
Good luck!

LAST EDITED ON 27-Sep-00 AT 08:06 AM (EST)[p]Thanks a lot for the info! I took it to a dealer and he stated that the only TSB he could find (what he really meant is WOULD find)close to my problem was 97-13-21 which deals with a '97 4x4 and I have a 2WD. I also looked on the net and found several TSB sites but didn't find any that gave the full information instead of brief summaries.
1) Does anyone know if there is a TSB for 2WD or,
2) Does anyone know where I can find the full information on listed TSB's. Thanks
