Can you tell me what the hole next to the 2 center manifold bolts go? Its the hole on the drivers side of the carb up against the edge of the manifold.
https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...190200&width=2 it's not a good pic, but by the door ****, you'll see the two vac lines on my intake that go up to the choke and rear of carb. Just gasket seal a piece of flatstock? FWIW, the EGR screws into the back.
the choke stove is on the passenger side in your image.... the image of the 4v manifold shows the large hole on the driver's side... the choke stove does not need exhaust flow of an open port... only a heat source... early exhaust mainifolds are an example, a tube from the manifold to the choke... with either a small vacuum bleed or a port in the carb throat above the venturi to create the heated air flow.
yes, the egr on the 2v is at the rear of the carb.... but i think in a different place on the 4v manifold... i suspect this manifold came from a late 80's truck with the 351 (ho) engine (before fuel injection)
for a blockoff... find some stainless flat stock and whittle away...
Thanks guys, ghall actually nailed it. Did some number checking last nite and it is a 86 Truck 351 HO manifold. The hole is for exhaust heat for the choke and what I am looking for is a Choke Block Plate which Edelbrock sells. I bought one from Summit for $13.95 so I'm good to go.
Good deal, I have an E4TE 4bbl manifold for a 351W, also. But it was in the storage shed, and the wolves were out last night, lol. Anyway, the EGR hole is located just below where it says E4TE.....pointing out the back. Sounds like you got it. The hole is in the same location as yours as well.
