I heard that I can put F-550 springs on my F250 (06 Diesel) and level my truck. Is this true?? And is it a better option than spacers also will I need new front shocks???
There are several springs you can put on. I installed 6000lb springs on mine. It was because it was bottoming out with the stock 5200lb springs. You can also get 6500lb and 7000lb springs. I wasn't interested in raising the front, but the change did raise it 3/4". Much more of a change than that and you will start to run into situations where you may need to correct your castor and re-center the steering wheel.
How do you guys know what the rating is on the springs, 6K, 7K, 5200K, etc... Did certain ones come on certain trucks or is there a chart somewhere I need?
I need to raise my 2wd in the front. The factory springs are worn out after 314,000 miles of driving. The truck sits low and regularly hits the bumpstops. I'd like to raise it and level it out if possible.

I'd like to know that as well... I have a 2005 F350 with Trailer Towing, Camper, and Snowplow Packages, if that helps.
The springs have a code on them marked on a tag.
5C3Z-5310-FA (4800 lb SPRING)
5C3Z-5310-EA (5200 lb SPRING)
5C3Z-5310-DA (5600 lb SPRING)
5C3Z-5310-CA (6000 lb SPRING)
5C3Z-5310-BA (6500 lb SPRING)
5C3Z-5310-AA (7000 lb SPRING)
My 07 came stock with EA springs which I had changed to CA to solve problems with the from end bottoming out.
My new 09 came with CA springs from the factory. Even though it is a heavier truck I haven't had any problems with the front end hitting the bump stops like my 07 did.
John the part numbers I listed are for the 2005 and up 4wd trucks. They may or may not be the same for the coils on the 2wd trucks. I would look into it first before putting your money out on anything.
