Mark, you need to get more then the 2.5 gallons to make the trip worthwhile. Congrats on the good find. Up here in Indiana I am gonna fill at the pumps for big trucks since they are about $0.20 cheaper then the car pumps. Price I saw today was $3.289.
Diesel in Iowa was 3.139 when I filled up last sunday.... 647.2 miles not driving carefully ( = mashed throttle accels most of the time) and still managed 16.5 MPG hand calculated in the excursion. When the shop slows down I want to put on a 4 inch exhaust, gauges, and switch from diablo to a DP F6....It had the diablo when I bought it 7k miles ago in June... Gasoline was 2.32 I think

I almost made a point of pointing out that the pump was running when the photo was snapped. In fact the OBS in front of me was filling up his front tank. I had driven exactly 299.2 and it only took 12.6 gallons. It was spilling on the ground before I called it quits......LOL... I had filled up on the way down also, but could not find the Hot Spot even though I was looking for it. It's 225 miles from my house to theirs.
Gotcha! that's awesome, for both of you. I was following your other thread for a while but got sidetracked before you got to that part.
Damn Barry, I sure missed a great chance to give you the first kid on our block to have the F-6 story, but nowadays driving 450 miles more or less non-stop makes me slow.
Sweet mileage Mark. I only wish that fuel was that cheap here.
where I am, 15 min North of Providence, 3.16 @ Mobil, so you cant be too far from getting same price.
Im sure it has been brought up many times, but its amazing how diesel costs more, but requires fewer steps to refine than gas... right? Does it have something to do with ultra low sulfur?
