I am going to buy a 6 inch suspension lift kit from Jack It. I am finding out I need to do a power steering conversion. Which I wanted to do anyway. Any info on where the blest place to start with this would help.
ayone have experience with lifting these trucks?
Jame suggest go to the 'forum' menu, open the search catagory enter 'power steering', or simular topic in the 'key word' menu, then in the 'search in forum' narrow the search to the '61-66', should find additional info.
Already completed the p/s upgrade on 65 F100 before I came across an article for both the 4X2, and 4X4, on later model Ford trucks. Since it's another Ford truck forum it would not be appropriate to post the link. However, if interested, run a google search under '67-72 Ford pickup resource' and should be able to find the link. May want to browse some of the other articles, seems a few would apply to 65-66. By the way, if I have not already done so, let me take this opportunity to welcome you to FTE!!.
It is a 4 x4 , thanks for a responding...first off....I was thinking of doing a suspension lift, and the rep from JACK It said that I would have to do a steering conversion which I would like to do any way. I just wanted to gather as much info before I buy the lift kit. Thanks Guys
I used a Toyota power steering box on my 66 F100 4x4, if you want me to send you the write up, PM me and I will send it to you. When I did the work it cost me less than $300 for all of it. A 76-77 Bronco box will bolt on to these trucks also.
