Ac Blower Motor
I have a '79 F-250 460 cid with factory air. After 29 years of service the blower motor finally burned out. Filled the truck with smoke REAL fast. All wiring checks out. Resistor set good as new. I would like to know if the motor can be replaced by removing the flat panel nearest engine. I know the blower sits right behind the panel but is it removable from there or did Henry Ford put the last screw under the floor mat. Thanks for advice from anyone that has done this.

I had the dislexic sister truck, a '97 (but it was an F-150). My blower motor gave out and I had to change it. Since the resistor set is good all your work should be under the dash. I was able to get to all screws and bolts (although they were not very conveniently located) to do the job. The motor itself was also tricky as it required a lot of moving, jiggling, coercing and forcing to get the old one out. I was more careful with the new one so I wouldn't have any rubbing from any undue contact on the new unit. Took a while and I had a sore back and scraped knuckles when it was done, but it was pretty straight forward.
I know mine was 18 years newer, but hopefully this gives you a little help.
