Help!! I need a Form-a-Gasket compound that will seal my shiny new aluminum differential cover to to my Pumpkin. I have used the normal Form-a-gasket TWICE now and it leaks each time. I know how to prepare a surface and I followed the instructions regarding setup time and still it leaks. I am talking PRISTINE surfaces. I use Royal Purple and it costs $50.00 to pull the cover.
What can I use instead of the usual crap. I need something that will SEAL.
A high quality RTV like Fords premium sealer will work fine. A small bead around the perimeter of the cover and around each of the bolt holes. Snug up the bolts and let it cure for 24 hours before filling with oil.
