I need some advice or help. New to the tuning game, and I was trying out a couple of the tunes from the Spartan archive.
I installed the Aggressive tow tune for the weekend and everything went fine. I came home and installed the Max Econ and have been driving it for a few days.
Yesterday I went to try and install ASE and it I got an error reading the file from the X3. I went to return to stock and the X3 says no stock file uploaded.
Your in the same boat as me. Its hung up between tunes. Basically the stock tune has been corrupted somehow. You need to go to sctflash.com and get a stock tune, but good luck. Ive been fighting with them for two months now and no luck. I have been unsuccessful at getting a stock flash to load to my X3 as it keeps giving me an error message. Im just about to the point where Im gonna throw it in the trash and buy something else.
If SCT isn't willing to help you in a timely manner (disappointing if true) go to your Dealer and ask them to reflash your truck. You might get lucky and get them to do it for less than the $100 deductible.
I have used (and currently still do) both SCT and Edge, one thing I always had was very quick support from Edge. I had something like this happen with my F-150 (my error) and Edge had me reloaded in 15 minutes or so... from time of call to start of truck. Knock on wood, but so far I haven't had to try out SCT's support.
OH, no matter which you use, ALWAYS saveyour stock file IMMEDIATELY to your computer after you load a tune on your truck. Don't let the excitement of a new tuner make you forget to do the smart thing and do the backup!
