since my "wheelin" truck is also my work truck, hauling rig, and daily driver i like to keep it looking good, but all these narrow trails a scratching the heck out of my paint. is there any way to get rid of these scratches and is there any way to protect my truck from more?
here is a video from my friend and i wheeling this weekend (sorry for the limited footage, we need someone to ride along as a camera man...) YouTube - wharton state forest wheeling
not really as far as paint protection...but repairing them either a bunch of those scratch fix ball-point paint pen things work hehe or if its black a sharpie works best
yup i follow the idea that if it gets me from a to b and through the mud in between i dont care what it looks like ( to a point)....its alright to be a redneck
Another thing I do when wheeling is always expect damage. I never go out on the trail and not expect it because if I did, then I would be pissed. I always choose lines where I shouldn't get any, but if I went through the trail "knowing" it could happen, I won't get too disappointed when it does.
Only damage to my truck so far is just one small dent on my passenger door that you can't even see unless you are looking for it.
ive been trying to get out there to wheel for sometime. im a little outside of philly, and everyone i ask always flakes out on me. good stuff!
i recognize that red truck. it was on my local craigslist and i tried to buy the bumpers off of it lol.
i probably wont be back out there till thanksgiving time but u can tag along if u want. i will probably take my brothers jeep tho instead of my truck. hopefully by then there will be more mud too because its been really dry lately
im aching to wheel my truck. i just put 40x17" ground hawgs on it, but now i need to replace my steering box and TREs and get it aligned before i can even drive the thing. my friend is supposedly building a pit in his woods, but he owns a landscape company and rarely has time to do anything else except work lol. PM me the next time you guys are thinking about heading out. i'd love to go.
Also wharton....isnt that is south tx? The wharton community college rodeo team down comes up for the annual SFA rodeo
nah its in south jersey it a 115,000+ acre state forest full of some really good wheeling spots and endless miles of trails and dirt roads....that also happens to back up to my house
My best bud / wheeling partner bed lined the side of his truck. $80 can of it. Only used half on the bottom half of his truck. Its GREAT for protection, but it won't SAVE your paint. Just looks cooler than scratched paint.
