Just got a new 160 amp alternator and it brought back some of the pep i had before i fried the first one. It was a couple weeks after i put the dp in and i forgot i had it in no start and tried cranking it for about 15 minutes...
i feel a lot better knowing that the batteries and alternator are brand new (duralast gold) with winter coming. The new alternator also smoothed out my idle a little bit. I'm also hoping for a little better mpg from doing this as it was so sluggish at low rpm.
i also opted to remove the muffler on my 5in mbrp and go with a straight pipe...so if anyone needs a 5in mbrp muffler i'll have an extra one. Im really glad i found this site as i would never found all these fun mods to do with my truck and i would still be driving it around stock! Thanks FTE
they seemed to recieve a lot of praise from some of the people on this forum...and from them i pretty much got it 2-3 days after ordering...almost fell over when i saw the package waiting for me when i got off of work.
I've seen quite a few threads over the last few weeks on this and how an alternator affects the overall performance of their vehicle...everything from an increase in power to a smoothed out idle.
