Dual Battery Solinoid
Theres a switch on my dashboard which goes to the solinoid,
and it is also wired to the dimmer switch which is located on the turn signal arm.
Now I can hear the solinoid but there seems to be no power coming out the terminal for the light wire.
I have replaced the solinoid with change.
There is an inline fuse which looks good and I didnot bother to change as I can tell theres power goin in because it is routing throught the switch on the dash.
Any idea what the problem is??
The dash mounted switch sounds like it controls a master relay.
Depending on how it is wired into the dimmer switch, the second relay should turn the driving lights on and off with the high beams.
As I typed that I realized that the wire from the high beam circuit could also be going through the dash switch to trigger the relay when high beams and the dash switch are both on.
Fuses that look good are not always good.
Depending on what type relay you have, the trigger circuit could activate the relay with no power on the primary power supply terminal.
Another possibility is there is a broken wire on the secondary side of the relay between the relay and the lights.
Third option, the lights are not grounded so the circuit is not completed.
I checked the in-line fuse line coming from the power source and discovered that the fuse was intermittedly connecting between the 2 ends,so I replaced the line (w/fuse carriage) and voila!!!
LIGHTS!!!
Thanks for your input.
