No Spark please help
Hey all,Ive listed this in both 87-96 & 80-86
I'm hoping someone can help me. My son blew his motor (302 carb, Duraspk2) in his 86 f250 (motor was changed before he bought it and ran good) this time he put #4 & #8 connecting rods through side of oil pan! "LEAD FOOT" takes after his mom!
We bought a 93 F-150 w/302 efi w/tfi-iv, swapped everything over carb, manifold etc. Went to change dist. and the duraspark dist. is to short so we put the other dist. back in, side plugs on dist. are different one from blown motor has 3 wires orange, purple and black. new on has 7 wires. greens grays and black. has old skool coil, have power to coil motor cranks nice and strong but have no spark from coil to cap (have a spark tool) I know the side plugs don't fit and are probably the problem. I've checked my Haynes manual but of course they don't cover swapping over dist. Do I have to cut and splice wires and if so which ones.
Any help would be much appreciated as I'm pulling my hair out!
Thanks!
