very true...but sometime for a pickup you only need that couple extra ton to get the Job done..you just got to use your head...right now i cant even afford the 12 ton press..say nothing about the 20 ton..

I know the exact feeling,its a lot harder to buy tools or anything else on SS than when I was working
at my age and fisical shape they don't have the future use value they use to have either
Ron- the one I'm looking at is only $150 which is really reasonable but I know where you are coming from... I think it even comes with some press plates so that adds to the value.
I guess now the big question becomes would the $ be better spent on a 20 ton model? I would just be using it for basic stuff- ball joints, u-joints, bearings, etc. on the cars, dirt bikes, and snowmobiles.
I picked up a HF 20 ton some time ago when it was on sale for $189.
Unless you spend big $ for a professional press, there is going to be some wobble / movement in the press shaft. The triangular tops with the suspended jack seem to be much worse than the square units.
