I have located a '75 Ford bronco 9" rearend. Was this a good year for these axles? The axle is rated at 2900 lb.

I personally have never heard of a bad 9" no matter the year. The only problem I've ever heard of and this goes with anything is having them wear out. Good Luck.

It depends on your application. The early Bronco (Pre 78) has a narrower track than the fullsize pickups. My '77 F150 4wd has a nine inch rear rated at ~3600 lbs. My '77 F150 2wd has a ~3200 lb 9 inch. The axels are visually the same but the axel shaft is bigger in the 3600. Also the 3600 uses 3 inch wide leaf springs while the 2wd has 2.5 inch leafs.
