Need help to ID some axles

Can anyone help to identify the make of these tandem axles? They were installed on my "new" F7 back in 52-54.

I don't believe they are Ford pieces, just trying to figure out what I've got.

As you may know, Ford didn't offer tandem axles until 1954. Tandem conversions of earlier F-7's and F-8's were pretty common, and a number of companies were doing them. FABCO was one such company. I am really not sure what make of axles those are, but they look a bit like early Timkens. You might try asking these guys:

The VP of the ATHS lives about 2 miles from me and has checked it over, he says about the same thing, they were likely from the Firetruck conversion (but didn't know the make of them himself). He also said it is probably the only 52 F7 in the country with tandems. Just trying to find out what kind..... Thanks

Well, it's a good looking truck. It's not the only 52 F-7 in the country, and the tandems are definately an after market conversion, as Louisville is correct. Ford did not offer factory tandems until 54. The most popular units were timkens and rockwells.

The 1952 Hildy's shows approved conversions were offered by Truckstell-Baumis, Marmon-Herrington, Grico, Fabco, Thorton, and Hendrickson. They all look pretty much alike from the pics and probably used similar components.

Looks like a FABCO unit, saw one go up on ebay a month or 2 ago, if it hadn't been on the other side of the country I'd have tried for it
