I found some ford explorer sport trac wheels that are 5 lug, and from what I have been told is that the sport trac spacing is 5.5 which is what i need for my f150 ... is this true? lol I dont want to buy them if it isnt
So, if I was to find any nice Ford wheels up to '96, with the 5x5.5 pattern, I'd be ok to put them on my '79 F100, is this right? ..........sorry for the Hijack .... I hope so, Ford Mondeo had some nice lookin' wheels ...and they're still around..
I'd ask NumberDummy about lug pattern on your truck. Some F-100's were 5x4.5 lug pattern - but I can't remember which.
If you are 5x5.5 for sure then F-150's and bronco's PRE 97 will work.
Also Dodge Ram trucks and 80's Jeep comanche trucks shared the 5x5.5 lug pattern. Although I'm not sure you have either of those on your side of the world.
Either way the explorer wheels were 5x4.5 before they went metric. And yes they went hubcentric when they went metric - but wheels can be metric and lugcentric.
Hubcentric means the wheel is centered on the car by the hub - and there is a snug fit of the wheel over the hub. Lugcentric is more common in the older stuff and uses the lugs to center the wheel on the car. Conical seat lug nuts means it's lugcentric
