Backup Lights problem
Had this on the general forum but not a lot of lookers
I purchase a used 2008 F250 Diesel truck with a little over 10000 miles on it. Well the other night I was backing up and I noticed that the backup lights did not come on. I went to replace both of them and both crumbled as I tried to pull the bulbs out of the lens cover. (not out of the socket).
Looks like to me that both got so hot and cracked the bulb and burned the elements. THis could be a problem but hope that the bulds I purchased do better.
Has anyone had this issue or would know why it would happen.

The day I drove mine off the lot the driver side back-up bulb was blown. Took it back to the dealer and they replaced it. When they pulled it out it was a cream color inside, like it smoked inside, but it didnt crumble. Not sure what casued it, but i havent had a problem since.
