8.5 Mpg

Ok Somethings wrong here. I firured up I went 126.3 Miles after I filled my 19 gallon tank up(Yesterday) also $40.00 and today I went and filled it up and got 15 gallons, so that meant there were 4 gallons left of the 19 that I filled up at first.

I took the 126.3 and divided it by 15 gallon for how much It consumed in the 126 miles I drove. Am I figuring it right?

I came up with 8.4 to 8.5 MPG. Sounds a little high for mileage. I am thinking my injectors are about shot. When I first start up in mornings it sputters and smells like RAW fuel, does that for about ten minutes. Then you get a slight raw diesel smell all the time out the pipe. I checked all over its not leaking out it just smells like a burnt raw diesel. Also my IP is turned up one flat.

The sputter and raw fuel smell tell me your injectors are leaking fuel.
I think you will get better MPG with new injectors.

Miles driven divided by gallons used = MPG.
Your numbers work out to 8.42 MPG.

I would also like to say that unless you filled to exactly the same point, setting at the same pump in the same location, your numbers may not be accurate.

Thanks Dave thats what my thoughts were that new injectors are in the horizon. Do you recommend the ones on EBay There Delphis from Pensacola Diesel? Should I get rebuilt from them or new? I should also get a return line kit?

This is my first time replacing injectors, what should I expect as in a time frame? I really would like to do it in one day as its my daily driver.

You can definatly change them all in one day. I pulled all 8 of mine out in about 20 minutes, so I would guess that you could have them all swapped in in about an hour. Its a real easy job.

I have not heard anything bad about either MWFI or Pensacola Diesel.

With the small cost difference, I would go with new.

You definitely want to replace the return lines, O rings and return tee's when you change injectors.
The old O rings will never seal on the new injectors, so you would be in there again within a week with air intrusion hard starts.

Never done this before, allow three hours, not a hard job though.
