Question where does it go?

I was looking under the hood today, and I noticed that one of conectors in the wire run on the driverside was not conected to anything, and there is not a relay in it. I looked at the wireing diagram I have, and cant find it in there. It is a two prong female conector, with red/ white, and a green wire, I didn't see a male connector laying in there either. Does anybody out there with a 89, know where it goes or what it is for?

Thanks in advance,
dave

I read somewhere the thermometer sensor for the overhead console is near the driver's headlight. Could be a possibility.

I dont have an over head console, so I dont think that is what it is for, unless the wireing is there for it, but I would think it would be caped if it did. I noticed it while i was pulling codes while i was pulling codes wich is a whole nother story.

How about spout? Could someone have forgotten to replace the spout after setting the timing? It is small retangular connector tucked under the remote mounted ignition control module harness on mine.

I dont think it is spout, I will have to look at again when I get home form work tommorow, (have to sleep here tonight.) This connector is round, and balck. I'll take a picture of it when I get home.

It sounds like one of the smaller connectors? Could it be the light for when you open the hood? I'm not sure if your year of Bronco has one.

Without having a pic and approximate location of where the connector is in the engine bay it is not going to be easy to help you. A relay would have at least 3 wires in the harness, a hood lamp connector would always be on, I dont think it would be to the cruise control, and I dont know what else it would be on the truck. I dont believe the 89's with a 302 had a power assist steering relay but that could be a possiblity as well, a switch to detect pressure at the power steering pump requiring a higher engine RPM.

That's exactly what I was thinking too.

Is the wire near or above the power steering pump?

heres a picture of it. it lays on the driver side fender well, near the master cylinder. I hope this helps some one because im clue less. I dont think it has any thing to do with the power steeing, I think only the 302's had them, not the 351's, but i may be wrong.

I think that is for the E4OD transmission but I will look at my bronco, that seems to be part of the harness system that is very similar to my 91's harness.

I checked mine out last night and saw the exact wiring, turns out that is your port for testing the RABS. Mine still had the cap that stuck to the side of the relay rail but it was flopping loose. Sorry for the confusion.
