I have a 93 FORD F-150 4x4 and i want to put a 4" suspension lift on it, but I'm unsure what brand is the best. I have heard that procomp is the preffered lift and I have also heard that rancho lifts sag. Can anyone give me some advyce on this subject.
I am not very knowledgeable about lifts on fords, but a few of my friends have SuperLift kits for their chevy's. They got a better deal on them than they could on Rancho's or Procomp.
I have been working with Skyjacker for some time now and have installed over 100 lift kits in one way shape or form (being a contributing editor affords me this ability) i think you will be extremely pleased with the Softride suspension available from Skyjacker. their website is www.skyjacker.com and they have an on-line catalog that you can browse. while you are there take a peek at the Ford Ranger we built for last years SEMA show. I have personally put several thousand miles of hard pre-running use on this system and have had no failures.
I have a 6in superlift kit on my 95 F150 4x4 and the coils have to be replaced about once a year because they sag to a point that you can't align your truck any more. So what ever you do don't go with a superlift kit , procomp is your best bet.

Drove my brand new '91 F-150 home in August '90 and bolted on their 4-inch lift kit with camber-adjustable extended-length radius arms, and drove the truck to the alignment shop the next morning. Coils settled during the following year to 3-1/2 inches, and are there to this day, 170,000 miles later. A big plus is that their stuff is black, which matches the rest of the frame.
I am looking for a 6" lift for my 1991 ford ranger STX 4X4 what lifts have the best ride and the best price? what lifts are available for that year ranger?

I have heard negatives from just about every brand of suspension lift manufacturers except Cepek. There are a lot of Bronco owners with Cepek lifts and all of them love the quality of the components and I have not heard one negative comment about them. The extended radius arms offered by Cepek are the best in the industry and all their brackets are extra beefy.
I love my 4" Pro Comp lift, but I don't have many miles on it yet. Plus, It looks a hell of a lot better than those Yellow Superlifts(unless you're into that sort of thing). Good Luck!

Pro-Comp, Flowmaster, and more to come!
If you use and abuse any lift kit for the reason they were intended for, you are bound to wear out and break a lot of parts no matter what kind you have. The ball joints will always suffer the most because big lift=big tires=big wear on parts. On my 78 I had a local shop make me some custom springs for the rear for four inches of lift and I have rancho springs and drop brackets for the radius arms in the front. I have no problem with those, just breaking driveshafts wearing out track arm bushings. Although solid axle kits are more simple than independent kits.
I have an 87' F-150 and plan to put a 4" suspention lift on it, I'm thinking Skyjacker or Trailmaster, any complants about these lifts. 35" fit dont they?
