$200 find - not a FORD
5.2L V8 - Auto - 4X4 with quadratrac (full time 4WD) - 3.73 LS Differential.
Had a light hit in the front end and so far I've already replaced:
Windshield - $17 used
Header panel (behind the grille) - $60 new
Passenger side front turn signal lense - $7 used
Passenger side rear turn signal lense - $12 used
Radio bezel - $3 used
Leather seats - $40 used (all except the driver's seat - was already gone)
31 x 10.50 x 15 Michelin AT/X tires - $120 used
Flowmaster Super 40 - $50 ebay
Flowmaster 2 1/2" mandrel bent exhaust pipe - $50 new
Painted the roof rack and grille Rustoleum satin black.
I know it's not a FORD, but it's going to allow me to park my truck for the winter and do it the way I REALLY want to do it.
I got a nice one on Tuesday (from the junk yard of course), and when I went to put it on it didn't fit!
Apparently in 98 they changed the grille slightly (longer top to bottom). If I would have got the header panel for a 96/98 it would have worked, but I still would have had to buy the newer grille.
In any case, I found another one here locally for $25. I just have to go pick it up. I may decide to not even worry about it for now and just drive it like that for the winter. I've already started planning a 6" lift with custom control arms and steel front and rear bumper with tire carrier for more ground clearance. I plan on making everything myself over the winter.
I already started installing a whole pile of Alpine stereo equipment that I've been collecting over the last 2 years. Almost $4k worth of audio stuff!
