So I finally worked myself up to swap the resitor out of my IDM-100. MY one and only IDM which added to the stess of it. hardest part was getting out the old resistor, but shes done now and it does make a difference. Not a huge gain inthe butt-o-meter but throttle is more responsive. Upper end of the rpm band seems much better but its hard to tell with the way my tranny shifts. Oh well next on the list is a shift kit so we will see.
I have 3 resistors left so if any one wants them PM me and Ill put them in the mail. There not expenxive 1.20 from digi-key, but the shipping was like 3 or 4 dollars. Still a great mod for the price.

Simple to remove.
Just scribe the coating then crack the old resistor with
a small blade. No need to take the chance of heating
the PCB a few times.
Mod well worth doing! Motor starts better also.

I'm a carpenter. I beat things withe big hammers. Finess'(sp?) is not one of my virtues. I tried to cut and pry but was scared of putting and pressure on the board.
To cut down on the heart I used and 13w iron with a tiny tip--takes awhile but for the priceof these things........

I have some circuit boards laying around I am going to play with before attempting to swap resistors....if not I have a good friend that works on boards daily that I may have to hire(with beer) to do it
