Hi, I'm new here, Hi eaveryone!
MY 1989 F150 had rusted shocks so I replaced them. Noe the thing rides rough and stiff it has coil fronts and spring rears.
Any suggestions?
these trucks usually ride better with a load than empty. I replaced the springs on my 94 (because they were worn out from the 5th wheel) and it got better, but it's still rough when unloaded. That's sort of what I expect for a truck though. After all, it's not a chevy...............
That could very well be the case. Once the new shocks settle down a bit and everything meshes, you might notice some improvement.
By any chance are they gas shocks? Sometimes if you don't extend them a few times before installing 'em, they can give you a rough ride. It's just something my retired alignment tech/mechanic Dad always told me to make sure I did. Never have had any issues after doing that.
