cold air intake

cold air intake

does anyone know a good ram air intake that would fit on an 86 f250 6.9? universal or direct fit, i mean the ones like the new vehicles use and if this will give me more power and mileage

Cold air intakes are non existant from the manufacturers.

That was a product of Sponaugle Engineering, AKA the garage shop.

is there any possible way to fit a modern one to the older diesel? i noticed the air box on mine is about the size of a modern day throttle bodies and those r what most of the intakes fit

I think if you do like Dave S, you will probably get about as cold as possible. That is just taking air from the outside and drawing it straight into the intake.

Those cone shaped things under the hood suck in hot air.
Hot air is not good for power.

Can a modern one be modified, never looked at one.
I have less than 20 dollars in mine.
Never found one near that cheap to consider modifying it.
