Reading Tranny Dipstick
So the van is parked on my garage floor and I fill it up and put the dipstick in. I happened to notice when the pan was off that the stick enters at an angle.
One side of the dipstick has more fluid on it than the other.
Which side do I read? Is this because my garage floor isn't as level as I think it is?
In addition to that the Ford service manual says that the tranny fluid level is fine when the engine is heated up in park and running when the fluid is in the crosshatched area.
Then what are the two holes for? Is the tranny fluid supposed to be between them when the engine is cold?
