I know I don't post alot here, but I lurk quite often looking for ideas for my 59 F100. I am posting up pics of my progress so far. To date the frame has been shortened to short box specs, completely boxed, c-notched, volare clip, flipped rear explorer axle. Now I will move on to the body work so in about another 2 years I may post up a few pics of that.
That looks real nice. The time spent will be well rewarded when finished.
I have a '59 that I plan to build sometime.
Will it have a flareside or styleside bed.
I hope it comes out even close to that nice.
Richard
Thanks for the compliments. It will be a styleside bed. The original cab is a standard back window, but I have another truck that has a wrap around window I haven't decided which one to use. The original one is in much better shape but I thought the wrap around would be a nice touch.
The big back window would be nice but if the other cab is that much better it would probably be the way to go. When it is done it will be somethiung to be proud of either way and I'm not sure the choice of the window will be a big deal in the end.
It seems most of the 57/60 trucks I see have the styleside bed and I think they look nice. I have a long bed plus a short bed parts truck and they both have the styleside. Both beds need quite a bit of work and I am considering going to a flareside as repair parts seem much more plentiful for them. I need to see some with the flareside to compare looks. I'm not sure I want to make that switch.
Way ahead of you. I have pulled the wrap around cab to the shop and started planning where to cut. While Im at it, I was thinking of doing a little chop like the one on this truck.
I couldn't decide which cab to use, so I used both. Well, at least parts of both. I cut the top and back window off the wrap around cab and mated it to the rest of my cab. The reason is that the wrap around cab was RUSTY.
