Rare Junkyard Finds In L.A.

Today, in (South) Los Angeles;

I was looking for steel rims for my truck and found three rides deserving salvation from the crusher.

All three are being sold with Titles.

The truck is likely ready to drive off the lot.

Anyone in SoCal would be foolish not to consider them (let your buddy know they are available).

1972 F250 Camper Special Custom (w/ original camper). $2495

1970 Mustang Hardtop, 302-2v Auto w/ floor shifter. Originally painted orange. $1495

1965 Mercury Marauder 2-door Hardtop. New burnt-orange metallic paint. Possibly a 390. $1595

Pass it on...

** Somehow, it appears my original post did not process.

Anyways, the junkyard is Ecology. On Lomita Blvd, in Wilmington.

i dont know about the mustang or the marauder, but the F250 seems a bit high in price...depending on the condition of the camper and the truck....but a junk yard truck i wouldnt think would be in that good of condition

There's another thread on this F250 where the OP described it in detail....it's supposed to be mostly original.

Read my response in the other thread for why I believe it ended up in a wrecking yard.

The '65 Marauder only came with two engines.

The 390 was standard, the 427 was optional.

btw Brady, I offered a widow lady 15K for a mint fully loaded 1971 F100 Ranger XLT with 40K actual, she turned it down, wants 20.

A pal of mine (now deceased) bought this truck brand new...it's absolutely perfect. So...I'm still thinking about buying it...

So...if this F250 matches the OP's description, it's a bargain at 2500 bucks. The camper is a 12' cabover, what's that worth?.

Don't Judge A Junkyard Dog By It's Location

Guys,

The truck apparently ended up there because of a dummy in the family.

This is NOT a junkyard truck.

I swear, it is 100% original - as towed from the owner's property.

I will bet anyone a $100 that all it will take to move it is a jump-start and some fuel dumped in the carb (if that).

The original tailgate sits inside the camper, and appears as if it was never attached to the bed (bright, shiny, paint, with no blemishes).

Calling this truck a bargain is an understatement. They are only original once.

The camper is tired, but mostly all there and accounted for. No matter, except for the fact that these two appear as if they were born together - and never separated.

The money is in the truck.

Zero rust.

No body damage.

No stories.

As for the Mustang, it looks like a warmed-over turd. But, it is a 1970 302 w/ a floor console. If you had $10K waiting to burn a hole in your pocket, you could do far worse than restoring this car.

The Mercury has a brand-new coat of paint (not perfect, but it was just done). In fact, many of the exterior chrome bits were not put back on (yes, lost). The interior looks like two cats went at it - and the interior lost. A not so-common car to found anywhere.

Any SoCal junkyard takes in any vehicle. They do not base it on rarity, but on weight (for the most part). At this place, they typically set aside cars that appear too good to be stripped - and allow the customers a chance to take home a diamond in the rough.

As far as I am concerned, the F250 is not even closing to being rough. An original truck, absolutely. A piece of poop, no damn way.

See for yourself, at Ecology on Lomita Blvd in Wilmington.

Or, buy my '92 F250 for a bit more - and I'll buy the rig myself...

You have to see it to believe it...
