Slipper Clutch

Has anyone ever run a slipper clutch for pulling? I am in the process of building a pulling truck and would like to know if it is worth running one. The truck I am building is a 1979 F-350 4x4 Dana 60 front,Dana 70 rear,4:10 gears,NP 435 tranny and a 429 that is built. Any help would be appreciated.
