Well, after much research I finally bought a 2003 7.3 liter diesel. And then I learned about the Oasis repoorts, of which I finally got back today. And I'm a little concerned as this truck has had many electrical problems (like the horn replaced, window regulator replaced, alternator replaced), but has also had fuel pump problems twice, and the last notation says that the truck was missing out badly and shutting down. Should I be worried?
I guess I'm looking for some reassurance here! Please help.....,
Diesels can be a little maintenance intensive, and do need fixing time and again.
Don't get yourself too worked up. The notes where it says it was "missing", well, that could have just been a CPS issue, or perhaps a wiring harness issue.
Thanks for the reassurance, I really appreciate it. I have been reading much about the CPS's and I hope you're correct. I just got the truck and it is running just fine thus far......
although the dealer did say that he was replacing the rear shocks for me before I got it.
It's an 03 with only 49K miles, so I was hoping it wasn't too good to be true!

Be excited you found such a low mileage truck. If I were you I'd look at that report as a positive thing - it means the truck was taken care of whenever it had a problem, instead of run into the ground. Also, now you have a report on everything that has been done, which is valuable information.

Bad alternators do happen, especially if the batteries were not taken care of. CPS for the miss is my guess. Horn and window regulators - I would worry too much either. fuel pump issues could have been due to trash in the fuel from whatever station the PO used to frequent. Not a bad laundry list for a 5 year old truck.
Welcome to the site - stick around and ask questions when they come up.
Probably some old fart that pulled a camper with it.
Old fart camper trucks are a hard find, and best-case scenario for a used vehicle.
Back when I was in the market, I tried to find the old fart truck, but diesels were going for much more back then and they weren't in my price range. I opted for a higher mileage single-owner truck with all the maintenance records.
Good find on a low milage truck, I got an 03 with over 100,000 miles on it now and still runs like a champ. I put 30,000 miles on it so far and the only real problems Ive had have been the trans (went at 96k and the PO towed alot) and an alternator which was replaced under warranty.
