That's cool. I'd hate to get caught in a rain storm though.

From a former Paramedic/Rescue Technician, this would be a nightmare in a wreck situation where extriction tools would be needed. Standar procedure is bend back the door skin at the nater bolt, then use the spreaders to pop the door open. With this door design, I'm not sure how rescue could get in it. I'd also hate to see what happens in a moderate t-bone hit... I would think these doors would jamb much easier. I also have to question the 'safety' in a roll over situation since the 'B' post hase been removed.

But hey, they look cool and thats what really matters

They would have to cut the A pillars and peel the roof back.

All right...all right...I guess I should explain. See..it is a "personal problem"...I have a very small weenie. Everyone knows you can improve your weenie size by making your stock-looking EX more "cool".

That is why I am looking for all kinds of decals, change my headlights, & kits to "raise" my EX off its differential/axle assemblies (anyone know where I can find a kit to raise my differential..see, I just noticed a problem with "raising" EX's to "look cool" and make them better rock-climbers. The body raises pretty neat with those kits, but the differentials/axle assemblies dont seem to get any higher. Anyone know why that is ? I so desparetly want my pathetically little weenie to grow......

With a lift you CAN get bigger tires on the truck. That DOES raise the diff/axle assemblies. FYI. There is still hope for your "shortcomings".

This is 2008. I think you can use the word ***** in forums now. It's not a bad word any longer.

EDIT:
Well, on second thought, I guess you can't here.

you are wrong - well...technically correct, but in practice..wrong as to the "rock climber" issue. In that regard, there is NO hope for my "short-comings" until someone comes up with that "kit" to raise my axles and differential case.

See - here's the problem - the biggest tires you can get on an EX will only raise those front and rear axles and differentials only an inch or so - maybe THREE in. if you really go nuts with super big "floater" tires.

So for now, to improve my..er...ah.."size"...I am going over to AUTO ZONE and buy some decals and stuff like that......

you are really coming at this the wrong way...you really need to SHRINK your wheelbase not lengthen yourself...

See...our long wheel base Ex's don't make for good rock climbers in the first place...too easily hung up regardless of ground clearance (well within reason)...that's why Jeep CJ7's make for such GREAT rock climbers...SHORT and STUBBY...

perhaps YOU should just climb rocks yourself...and we'll just call you STUBBY!!!

That black lincoln was just sold around chicago in the last year or two, went for pretty cheap from what I remember, one door was not functional though. The seller had no idea what was worng or how to repair it. Entire trunk was full of all kinds of crazy pumps and hoses and other garbage. Not really all that practical in my opinion.

Make note get kewl decals. Im board with the reg old ex shtuff. Give me something good to add to mine.

(side note I had one of the first windstars which I still cannot believe I ever did and first thing i did was remove ford oval and add mustang pony to grill and add some mustang decals to it so many doofs were like "wow that is so kewl" i just smiled and worried that they were breeders.

Well then just advise everyone to figure out how to adapt portal boxes to our stock axles if you only concern is diff protection. Actually I think the problem is probaly deeper than that. I guess live and let live is a foreign concept huh?

Got my stickers today, then I took the x for a run. (WOW) I know I can feel at least 50 more ft lbs of torque and more horsepower as well. The heck with a new exhaust, programmer, and oh yeah the 6" lift kit on my 2wd X. I know this will make someone happy. He He.
