I have a 05 3 valve v-10.What I'v read is the flow master 70 is the most popular muffler for this eng.If you have a fm70 were you happy with the change from stock? does it sound good? Did you loose any low end torque or fuel economy? Thanks for any info,Dave.
The FM70 is only a little louder than stock. You won't lose any performance, only gain some. You won't lose any mpgs, may get a very slight increase. I'm happy with mine however I have an 04'. Many on here have the the FM70 on their 05'up, shure they will chime in.
I have the 50 on my 2000 V10. Not very loud outside. Some DROOOOOOON inside though. V10's are not raspy if that is what you want. They do not sound like V8 at all.
Also NO low end loss.
We have the FM70 kit on our 05. Only negative its not a big deal is a slight drone at 45-55 mph on hwy... Overall not much louder than stock...better flowing and lighter than stock...
I would be interested in this information too. I would like to replace the muffler to get a little more sound but avoid the drone. I've also heard the FM 50 Big Block recommended by others on FTE. Looking forward to more testimonials from others with 05 or newer V10s who just replaced the muffler and left the rest of the exhaust stock.
i have a flo pro. dunno much about it but the local exhaust shop guy gave4 it to me for cheap cause it was used. i think it sounds great. no loss whatsowever. no drone really at any speed. and it sounds really good in reverse tooo...lol

The FM50SBB has a larger case size than the FM70BB2. The eextra capacity should cut frone even more than the FM70.
I have the FM70 and love it. It is behine headers so that changes the sound tremendously.
Changing a muffler for MPG and power inceases is a waste of time. It is all about the sound. I would fathom a guess that the power increases would have to be under 3% and the mpg even under that. The numbers the muffler companies put out there are BS.
On my 05 which is linked above for the 70 sound clip, I put the FM70 catback kit since it's the only catback FM sells. However, the 70 sounds really close to the stock muff but way LIGHTER. That stock unit is a MONSTER!!!
I wanted more sound so I put in a 50 Delta series. Much better IMO. Never tried a 40. Those who say the 50 drones at 45-55, I'm not sure. I'm usually at 35-40 or highway speeds and no droning. I vote for the 50 over the 70 but the 70 is a little better than stock but not by much.
Cheapest way IMO, get a 50 series and have it put in. They don't sell a 50 series catback from FM for some reason for the 3V, only a FM70 catback.
