4x4 causes no acceleration?

Because this is such a strange issue, I figured I'd post this here and ask for help for the guy.
Anyone have any clues? Nothing I know of would cause this, except, MAYBE, being locked in 4x4HI and LOW at the same time, but that's unusual.
