PCM Programming
My daughters boyfriend just bought a 99 F150 4x4 with a 4.6L. There is a sticker on the air box from a Ford dealer that says a PCM upgrade was done in 2001 , it gives a code number for the upgrade and the dealer.
I had another F150 owner tell my he had a Ford dealer reprogram His PCM for better gas mileage.
Any one hear of this?

Ford puts out new "updated" tunes for all their vehicles every now and then. I've had 1 or 2 done to my truck in the last 9 years. I know one was suppose to be for a better shifting transmission and I believe they claimed gas mileage. As the engines get more miles on them they come up with what they think are better tunes to keep them running efficiently.
