the dealer told me that the spindle bearing could be ok it could be the overall hub bearing could be bad. how do you check that ? my spindle bearings are ok no play and full of grease wheel spins fine. but there still is a grinding i set the cruise on and and when you turn wheel a little like weaving back and forth you can feel grinding thru your feet thru the floor.
I had the same problem in my 2004 F350 superduty twice on my left side with the stock hubs, I ended up replacing the stock hubs with warn heavy duty hubs and never had a problem again.
With the truck in 2-wheel drive with the wheels straight ahead, reach around back of the wheel and turn the u-joint by hand. It should be somewhat hard to get started, but when moving it should be smooth and not gritty or ratchety.
springer i have warn hubs and yes it does with hubs locked in or out
neeedle bearings are full off grease i grease every 6 months so i can kinda rule that out
