Suggestions on a cam
And in order to get as much low-end torque as possible out of it for the truck application keep your duration @.050" below 220.
If you go over .500" lift you'll need to replace the vavle springs, and you don't want to go much over .500" anyways because of clearance problems with your pistons. but you can go over a bit, i'd suggest staying under .550" lift. too much airflow and it won't have any performance increase anyways.

Cam selection really depends on your application,(off-road, daily driver...etc). Also a good breathing exhaust will help net the biggest increase with the cam swap. Long tube headers are great, don't mess with shorties, the gain over stock isn't worth the money.
Do a search on summit, if you stay within the give parameters you should be safe.
I'm told that comp cam 31-255-5 is a well liked overall cam, and 35-308-8 is nice with some bolt on's(exhaust, heads, intake).
