Hood Alignment
Hey again everyone. I am wondering what the best way to re-align my hood is on my 1977 f-250. The front of the hood sits at the the correct spacing while the rear of the hood sits up about 3/4" from the front quarter panels. The hood also seems to be a little too far forward and hits the top of the grille. In order to shut the hood I have to slam it down very hard to latch. What is the best way to align this so it is correct and the lines match up? Thanks foe the help...

Just loosen the bolts on the long side that sticks out too far, the side that's too far forward. Loosen them just enough that the hood will move by bumping it by hand. Slide this side back about a half inch and tighten one bolt to hold it in place. Then shut it easy and look at the alignment. Then just move the other side, the same way, until the crack at the rear of the hood gets even . Then tighten all bolts down hard when it's perfect.

If I remember my trials and tribulations with my hood, the 3 bolts that hold the hinge to the inner fender, loosen the rear 2 and move the hinge down. this will lower the rear of the hood and also move it back just a little bit. The forward and aft positioning of the hood is controlled by the 2 bolts which attach the hood to the hinge. The 3 bolts which attach the hinge to the inner fender control up and down of the front and rear of the hood. (If memory serves me right.)
