Hard Core Wheeling Preperation
Well I just admitted defeat today and hauled the truck into a shop to figure out why the beast isn't starting.
I've started throwing things around in my shop getting ready for its arrival. I would like to know what everyone suggests for a truck for some HARD CORE wheeling.
I am putting a snorkle and smoke stacks on, because I messed up my old engine going into mud water about headlight deep. Smoke stacks are not only for looks but hopefully will keep the water out of the exhaust.
I already have these, they just arn't on, because well it doesn't run right now.
What more will I need besides:
37" Super Swamper TSL's
Snorkle
Smoke Stacks
Warn Winch
1 Ton Axles
FOR SOME HARD CORE WHEELIN!!!!!!!
Let me know your opinions, i'd prefer all truck mods not what to bring. Because I am well aware of what I should bring for self recovery and I really don't want another chain arguement.
Trucks mods, if i've left anything out. Let me know what you think!

Define Hardcore. This is different to everyone.
This rig gonna see rocks? Sand? Mud?
Since you are running stacks and some snorkel thing, I can assume deep water.
Diffs and t-case vents will have to be raised. You wil also have to figure out how to keep the water out of the transmission.
I am in water crossings every weekend, and I tear my axles apart every third trip. Water is inside every time. I replace bearings more often than I buy shoes.
Maintenance is critical for vehicles that see this much water.

Well im glad i see winch on there....
GOOD recovery points, best if there welded to the frame.
You COULD use more gears but i think you will be OK for now. But if your goin to get lockers do gears also.
Welding isnt that hard, probably have some one do it for you for a hundred bucks or less really.
Roll bar? or cage? Got one?
Safety Restraints. Make sure its got factory seat belts at the least.
I fully agree with 75f350.
Preventive maintenance if crucial with mud and water.
Any time you get back from a day in the mud toss one of those water sprinklers that waves back and forth.... Put one under the truck, then after a few hours pull it out and move the truck, after it dries up some, grease everything. I just replaced all the ujoint on both shafts of my truck, i did them all with the greaseable u-joints, for that extra security.
In mud and water, keep things lubed is very important, along with changing fluids frequently.
Ill post up when i think of some other things.
Also see what the prices of spools and mini spools are running.
