I've seen some deals on used dodge V-10's out of totalled Ram SRTs..... a true performance V-10 thats alot smaller and lighter than the ford. You would have a Lighting killer then!
whats post count? is more better?
I dont see how you figure the ford v10 is based on the 5.4l that 333ci add two of the same size cylinders to the ford v10 and you get 416ci and 6.8l
follow this 333/8=4.1625 4.125*10= 416
The dodge on the other hand is based on the 5.9l thats 360ci
thats 360/8=45 45*10=450
My main concern would be if a V10 would even fit inside a 97'-03' F-150 engine compartment without major modifications. That year 150 has a very sloped hood and front end and does not exactly have a giant engine compartment. Remember the V10 is a long SOB.
If you want something carbed I'd look at a 351 or similar.
You could get away from to much slope in the front by adding a 3inch body lift, on his 03 F150 with the 5.4l its like its a mile down in there so the high shouldn't be a problem.
As much as the V-10 sounds like a unique power building monster just waitting for that add on. . . There isn't much of an aftermarket for the v10 besides getting creative for whats made for another application, though on keeps coming to mind every time some one ask or hints this qeustion relative to your post. CAMS, some ones gotta walk this line. . .
Honestly Krewat you need a time out froma ll that posting it's bad for your health seriously ;-)

so the dodge is 450-416= 34ci bigger
A slight correction is needed, the older dodge 8L cast iron engine was based on the 360 v8. The Dodge Ram SRT V-10 2004-2006 is 8.3L 505 ci and is based on the newer 6.1L Hemi V8. The physical appearance of the Ford V-10 is huge compaired to Dodge.
It would be cool to have a V10 version of a Lighting. Use the same manufacturer for the supercharger. Make it look like a production Lightning V10. A 3 valve engine tuned right will put out some serious horsepower. Get the gearing right and it would be a blast.

With a torch and a big hammer, anything is possible
Did Fendr specifiy it had to be easy? I am sure it wont. You know, that lightning doesnt sound to bad after all. Suppose it depends on your intentions. Want to make something super unique and spend a fortune doing it? It'd be pretty sweet. if you dont want to mess with electronics though I'd just skip the V10 all together though.
