LAST EDITED ON 10-Oct-00 AT 09:16 PM (EST)[p]I have a 2000 F150 4x4 that's making a squealing noise under the hood. The best way to describe it is the noise you hear when you start up an old car in extremely cold weather --- almost like a high pitch rattle. If that makes any sense? It happens when you first start it up and lasts a good 1/2hr. The noise seems to be getting louder and louder. I brought it to the dealer twice and they said that the belt needed to be lubricated. Needless to say, the noise has NEVER gone away; in fact, it's louder than ever. Any suggestions as to what it might be or if anyone else has had a similar problem?
