Last spring I bought a whole rubber kit for my 79 from DC. The window seals fit ok and the door seals were actually excellent. but I took the truck down to my local glass company to have the front and back glass rubber installed and the front rubber was 6" too tall.
I called them on the phone and the acted plum stupid and told me I had ordered the wrong year for my truck. I had the invoice in my hand and had to argue with them that the invoice showed that they shipped for a 1979 ford truck. They said it was impossible for the rubber to be 6" to tall that it was made on a machine and could not be wrong They told me to ship it back at my cost and they would give a 1967-72 rubber or give me a credit for 60 dollars. A windshield gasket is 100.00 !!!!!
So I would lose money?
Why would a 1967-72 fix the problem???
I asked to speak to Mr. Carpenter but they told me he was always out of town and did not take customer calls. They told me they would have the manager over windshield rubber production call me within 10 min.
Three days later he had not called. I called back again and asked to speak to Mr. Carpenter and was told again he did not take customer calls so I asked to speak to whomever was in charge. They told me they would have someone call me in 15 min. No one called so the next day I called again and they told me the person I need to talk to had gone on vacation and would not be back for four days.
Finally after several more calls the next week, I got to talk to someone. He said I would have to send it to him before they could make me another. By this time I gave in and sent it to them and guess what? It was made 6" too tall.
But this is not the bad part, the bad part was that this was my daily transportation and it sat in the glass shop for three weeks while I rented a car!!!!!
This makes LMC look pretty good. Any problem you have with them they will promptly ship you another and you can talk to the man in charge!!!!
DC makes good stuff but it is expensive and if you have a problem you might as well forget about it. Be warned!!!!

I got my kit off ebay. Fit great, except one window felt the clip was not in the right spot and I wound up ruining the felt, but it is the one on the inside so I'm not THAT worried about it. I did get the 2 pieces that run on top of the door and down the back from LMC and I was very pissed off with how bad they fit.

I bought the entire kit fom LMC and it all fit perfectly and seals awesome! I had zero problems installing it and the only hard part was removing the old hard seals! I had to almost chisel out the old stuff. But LMC was prompt with their shipping and everything came just as ordered. I highly recommend them. I used a spray can of silicone to get the seals easy to slide into the grooves. I used a flat screwdriver to push it up into the channel in some spots just to get it started but once it started I just rolled the seal together and pushed it into the channel. I used the window to push it all the way in once it was in placed and it stayed without any problems.

Hey Guys,
Has anyone ever used Steele Rubber Products?
I saw them on My Classic Car and looked them up. They have a lot of the rubber stuff for our trucks. Not sure what quality it is, but Dennis Guage seems to like them.

1973/79 F100/350 & 1978/79 Bronco"anti-rattle" window kit

The "weather strips" is the main thing that needs replacing here in the desert.
The sun eats them up and they chip out and get to be a real mess.

Assuming DC's rubber is as good or better than the original stuff...
DC only dropped the ball on the clips?
Maybe it's just the latest batch?

The clips on my DC weather strips are not the same design as my NOS Ford
parts. Close, takes a close look to see it, but they are different. The Ford
clips are better.

Better steel too it seems. The DC clips are fragile and doesn't take much to
break off the tabs. The Ford clips are "tougher". The sheet metal they are
made from are the same thickness tho. All the clip's steel measured out to
be .020" to .022" which is not where the problems are.

My Ford NOS window runs held up pretty good, yeah he will like them.
The differences between the NOS window runs and DC's (in the long run;)
may make no difference at all? :)

All this is fine except for one thing that bothers me... The DC stuff is bragged
on -by them- as being the same as Ford or better. My very first purchase
showed it ain't. :/

They are liars if nothing else. :/

The NOS weather strips and some other NOS rubber parts didn't hold up like
the originals tho. No where near as good. Always wondered if it wasn't because
they "started out" old. LOL :)

Hey UT, go by there and tell 'em...
"a stupid old retired ditch digger wasn't fooled by their crap :)".
Ask 'em...
"can't you do better than that for the price you are charging? :/"
"at least be able to fool a dumb ol' railroader, danggit."
Many are fooled by the salesman's pitch.
The more grandiose the claims, the more closely I check out the products' design.

Denise is a liar.

YMMV

Hi Guys, I'd like to make a correction to the above here.

The Part # C0AZ-1953-A is a typo.

It should read C0AZ-19553-A instead. I was also informed by Numberdummy, that that part number has been updated to XG3A, and retails for $11.49.

Sorry about the typo.

Ifin you want some Genuine Ford Door Glass Runs (that are Obsolete): D8TZ1021546A

You can still buy some Obsolete Genuine Ford Door Glass Runs, cuz the following dealers still have stock.

See Post #24 for the description of these runs.

Burns Ford in Burns OR has 4.

Duncan Ford in Blacksburg VA has 2.

George Ordus Ford in Bad Axe MI has 2.

Griesel Ford in Okarche OK has 2.

Lithia Ford in Omaha NE has 2.

Barry Motor Co in Danbury IA has 2.

There's more, but only one each, so I didn't bother listing the dealers who had them.

Ford Dealer locator system usually doesn't list the phone numbers.

OK, FWIW, not hyjacking the thread but I just installed both sides door weatherstripping, anti rattle kits and door runs from DC. Everything fit fine except the inside and outside antirattle kits. The rearmost tang that holds the antirattle strip on the DC strips were in a horrizontal alignment with the edges of the strip. The slot in the doors have the tang receptical slot angled upward as to be parallel with the curvature of the door. It took a bit of forcing to get the tangs installed but they did go.
The door channel molding was serrated where the top goes from horizontal to vertical and both sides fit perfectly, no glue required. The division run molding fits fine.
All in all, I am pleased, both windows roll up and down like new. I realized I spent a few $$ more for the DC stuff but,,,,,,,,I've just heard bad stuff about some of the other soft stuff out there.
BTW, I have all new door seals, windshield and backlight seals that I've not installed yet but they appear to be top quality. I did place one of the door moldings up temp and the door closed as it should so the seals are about right.

Just a question. Has anybody used the NPD pieces? I'm from Canada and will need these pieces shortly, but I don't want to run into the probs you guys are having. The shipping takes forever to get here and like most I would like my parts to FIT and come to me ASAP. John

Yep, it went in and that section of the weather strip isn't laying flush with
the metal too. No problem for aftermarket parts that have brand new
rubber in that way, it's better than NOS that has 35 year old rubber on it. :)

But...

...and they charge like it is too. But it ain't.

I bet it's the same dangged stuff JC Whitney and LMC and all the rest sell.

I've used both DC and LMC, both fit perfect no issues what so ever.
