Just realized you are from Chino Valley. Did you grow up there? I was born and raised in Prescott and so were my parents and my grandparents. My family goes back to the early 1860's to a place called Palace Station, an old stage coach relay stop on the old Senator hiway between Prescott and Phoenix that my great grandpa built. If you're looking for some good roads to explore, that's the place to be.About 15 miles Southwest of Crown King.If you have a good paint job, forget it cause the roads are narrow and overgrown.Quads have taken them over mostly.
I used to drag race on 89A on Jackass flats BEFORE Prescott Valley was there (geez, really makes me feel old now)had a '64 Ranchero with a 289 Hi-Po and ported heads. Used to make the 327 Chevys go home cryin'. Anyway good to hear from someone in my old neighborhood. Bud
I lived in Chino from 1976 until current minus when I lived in Bullhead and when I lived in Glendale. I have been to been to palace station many times, as for draging on 89A I havebeen there but never draging, wow those were good times. when were you in Prescott high?
Ok I just looked at the welcome thread and seen your age, I probably wasn't born when you were in school. my wife's family has lived in prescott for many years. her maden name is King, her mothers family was Stipsky.
I lived in Prescott '89 to '94 for college. Yes, I went to THAT school.
I loved it up there. Beautiful scenery, great weather, and plenty of dirt roads. I miss getting my '83 F250 all muddy at the old drive-in on Senator Hwy.
I've only taken my wife up there once, but I'd really love to head up for a night or two some weekend when I'm home.

you were ther the same time as my brother in law Jeff Chapple (aeronotical engneering) and my good friend Randy Jackson (Business degree)
Both names sound familiar. When I get home next week I'll have to try and find a yearbook so I can match faces with names.
It was quite a shock for an L.A. boy to move to Prescott. I couldn't believe that, at the time, there were only 5 or 6 traffic lights in all of Prescott. It didn't take long for me to fall in love with the place.
I think the most important stuff I learned in my 5 years came from the guys who worked at campus maintenance (I worked on-campus for 3 years). Really helped to steer me the right way in life.
