im trouble shooting a oil leak and am trying to determen where its comming from. i have alot of oil in the V of my motor. from the fuel bowl all the way back under the turbo. the nut on the back of the hpop is tight allong with all the line connections. the nut on the ipr solenoid is snug but not tight. should it be tightend down all the way?? this is unfilmiar territory for me.
The first thing would be to wash the valley with simple green and a water hose. You need to have it clean in order to find where the oil is coming from. Clean, crank, look for the leak. Look good under the turbo, could be the o-rings in the pedestal or pedestal to block.

Good luck.
what Rick said.... if the valley is full and fills fast id say oring on the HPOP..there should be a weep hole at the very back of the valley on the passenger side...clean it up good...un plug the weep hole if its plugged ,check oil level and fire her up..use flash light and start looking...
good and snug so you cant wiggle the plug...if you tighten it up too tight you could strip the tin nut....you wont loose oil cause of that tin nut...if its too loose ..you would have a ruff running truck..let the truck run longer..have some one hold the throttle a little to bring the idle up if you have high idle on the tuner then set it..look for that leak..you have one some where in there..if you valley was dirty to begin with it could be fuel leaking..check the fuel bowl drain valve..
ok got the nut tight. but their is lots of oil grime etc i soaked it in simple green for 20 min and it wont come off. after spraying it off and letting it dry their is still lots of residew in their. i started it up for 5 min and held it at like 2000 for a few secs in intervals. looked with a light and its so messy in their its hard to tell. whats a good way to clean it out other than simple green. i have a lil eletric pressure washer and a gas one would it hurt to use that. or should i go get some engine degreaser.
degreaser a must.maybe a scrubbing brush too...power washer is ok..do not use steam cleaner..steam gets into very tight places water cant and could cause problems..i use a power washer all the time..but i also put electrical grease in all my plugs..
wow finally well heres the deal. after taking as much out as i could boost tubes and the intake manifold to get down to the V to clean it real good its spotless. and found my leak!!! its comming from the front under the fuel bowl.. from the HPOP it appers. t couldent see so i tok a mirror and a light and looked and seen a drip. on the back of the hpop their is a round part that says o ring and has a snap ring on it just below that i guess where it mounts up to the motor its leaking. any suggestions
truck was in the shop a while back my chip went out and the tec at the ford dealership took it out and when i got it back he said he had to prime refill or do something to the hpop because we kept cranking on it and it wasent starting. when i got it back it started leaking... so im gunna call and find out if they will fix it on the house cauz they messed with it. but if they wont what do yall suggest
If that plug back there is leaking it would look like it was leaking from the snap ring . Look at that plug real good they have a tendency to blow out the o-ring that seals it .
ok i will look its just hard to tell the plug felt tight and it dident look too wet there it looked like it was under back behiend the snap ring. but i will do the best i can. is it hurting anything if i drive with it like that till i get it fixed
