I just want to let everyone know, Yesterday I went to Home Depot. I took in a piece of my gray dash so they could color match it with there computer. I bought a qt of custom matched paint and a Sprayer. Today I sprayed it twice and I must say it's almost perfect.
The Behr paint and primer in one, Deep base, exterior satin enamel was $5 and the Preval Sprayer #267 was $4.49, Total $10.06 with tax.
After It cures about 24hrs, I'll install it and take some pictures.
All it had on the can for a paint code is a bar code. The paint associate took the piece of my interior (I used the drivers side speaker cover. they scanned the back of it)and put it up to the color scanner on there computer. The computer then copies the color and mixes the paint.
That's good to know. I was a little concerned about the ease of getting that piece of plastic to match the rest of my interior. Too bad they don't allow you to order it to match the carbon fiber look on some of the trim that comes stock.
You used enamel paint from Home Depot on an interior part? Its not going to last and it will start to peel (I've seen many examples here on FTE over the years). You need paint made for bonding to plastic. Ford (and some of the aftermarket places) makes color matched interior spray paint for just this thing.
What color was your Edge holder? I thought they were all color matched.
