I am looking to pick up an 04 or 05 X the 04's are about 5k cheaper. What should i look for if I got with an 04 over and 05? Are there extended warranty's on them. What is the avg mpg (city/hyw)
I am looking at an 04 EB for 16k with 68k on it. 05's are about 20k with about 70k on it. How do these prices compare?
My 05 I purchased about 1 1/2 months ago for 15K with only 61K miles on it, but I guess what you didn't say is if your looking at a 6.8 V10, or a 6.0 V8 smoker
Probably the newer the better for the diesel. I have an 05 and had the turbo replaced at 15k. It was under warranty and it didn't cost me a dime. The warranty on the engine is 50k I think. I seldom drive mine. It now has only 17k on it.
I think the turbo went from lack of use and not neglect. You will love the diesel.
If your getting a diesel get the 05 for sure in my opinion. If its a gas theres no way in heck its worth 5 G's more, you will lose your *** bad on that deal. The only difference is the fornt ends are nicer on the 05's when you talk about the gas models. You can get the 04 and pay around 2 G's and get the 05 front end put on with fresh paint. Saving 3 G's, and raising the value of your truck slightly.
Only reason I would give the diesel 05 the nod over na 04 is due to more refinements in the troublesome 6.0 diesel.
