Aeroforce Interceptor Gauge, 2004 and earlier?

Is anybody running the Aeroforce Interceptor OBD2 gauge in a 2004 or earlier gas SD? If so, could you post which parameters are available?

I'm considering buying one of these but I'm not 100% sure if some of the parameters will be there. I'm mainly interested in trans temp and fuel pressure. It says fuel pressure is only available in returnless systems. Does anyone know if the 2004 and ealier gassers are returnless?

See this thread by X_Hemi_Guy for more info on this gauge.

My 2002 is a return system. returnless systems have only one hose going to the fuel rail and modulates the fuel pump to maintain the correct fuel pressure. If you have two fuel lines in the rails, then you have a return style(recirculating) fuel injection.

Thanks for the info. I'm guessing mine's also a return system.

On a related note, would keeping an eye on the fuel pressure in a gasser be particularly useful anyway? I was thinking it would maybe let me catch a fuel pump going bad or maybe a dirty fuel filter?

Stand alone (elecrical) fuel pressure gauges are pretty pricy so it might not be worth it. It would've been handy if it had been bundled in with the OBD2 gauge though.

If I don't get the OBD2 gauge, I'll likely go for the three gauge pillar mount. I'm going to get trans temp and a voltmeter. Not sure about the third one. Either fuel pressure or oil pressure. Anyone have any advice on that front? Maybe a different gauge I haven't though of?

Honestly unless your running forced induction or a wet nitrous system, there isn't a real need to monitor you fuel pressure in a return system. Either the pump works or it doesn't. For about $50 you can pick up or build a gauge that will attach to the test port on the fuel rails to use for testing (your not supposed to plumb fuels into the cabin.)

For three pillars, I like Vacuum, A/F ratio and oil pressure. I have a stock trans temp that should be close enough and I never get it into the yellow. I drive by my vacuum gauge. It's much more difficult to keep a vacuum on this auto trans than my old 4spd, so I find it very handy to see if I am running near 0 or if I am holding speed with a vacuum. It's a decent way to monitor your driving style for fuel economy, no vacuum means poor mileage.
