Hey Guys just wanted to thank everyone for the help. Me and dad work on and off today on my 79 F100. Didn't know if it was going to run or not, but it finally showed that it did. Man was I glad to hear the truck hit after a couple of turns of the motor. Then it happened, it started and stayed running. I had a grin from ear to ear. After 45 mins of running and after burning all the oil and trans fluid we put in it, it stopped smoking out the exhaust. I do need to replace the valve cover gaskets. I do have a valve pecking alittle on the drivers side. But I hope it stops after a few more days of running it. I cann't believe how easy it starts, but my uncle did take good care of it so I quess thats how I got lucky. I know things will go wrong but thats what it will take to get it road ready. We are headed to a big car show tomorrow at Whinchester, Ky at Boonesburo State Park. It's 2 days of fun for me b/c now I can go down and see what I can find at there swap meet. Thanks again for all the help/
That has to feel good! That is a great year! I almost bought a "71
F100, but it didn't have power steering and power brakes. New motors and straight body, but I needed the other...
Have fun at the swap meet
