Howdy, Im in the market for a 67-72 1/2 ton. I would like a 4x4, but, they are almost impossible to find here (New York) so I will probably have to settle for the 2 wheel drive variety. I already own a 86 Bronco (full size) but the motor is shot. The question therefore is, will a 67-72 1/2 ton body fit on a 86 Bronco frame? I've already figured out that the 67-72 will have to be a short bed. P.S. There is a 72' shortbed down the road for sale, so a quick response would be appreciated.
Thanks, but all my plans have turned to dust. The 72' shortbed was sold before i could look at it and my Bronco still needs a engine. Got my eye on a 79' 4x4. Looking it over tommorrow.
here's a different view: the engine for the bronco can be had for a few hundred dollars. the 67 truck is becoming more valuable just being what it is! restore the bronco and the 2wd or sellthem both and get what you really want. there are lots of partially finished trucks out there for sale that have been done well, but the money or wife's patience has run out!!
Sgt,
Where in New York are you?Im in upstate NY, and its few and far between that I can find a decent 67-72 ford truck. But keep your eyes open, theres trucks to be had up here.If you are in upstate NY, send me an e-mail(jackboot_thug_79(No Email Addresses In Posts!))I have a scoop on a 68/69 f-100, excellent shape, possibly 4wd.Im in to the 250-350 fords, so I looked it over, only for the neccessity of clean body parts.,
I'm in western NY (Niagara Falls) and I might be very interested in that 68/69 you wrote about. If you find out if its a 4x4 and know the price, post it here and I will definately answer. I usually check the boards every 2 days as my job keeps me away from the computer. OOOPPPs. Just remembered, I have to go to Texas next week, so if you dont see a reply, be patient, I will answer.
LAST EDITED ON 28-Jan-01 AT 10:16 PM (EST)[p]Well, I'm back from Texas. Still looking for that 67-72 4x4 out there. I know I will find it eventually. Actually, I think I will expand my search to include the 73-79 years also, so, if anyone out there has a line or has heard of a 67-79 4x4 (F-150 preferred) drop me a line through e-mail or on this board. patience, patience, patience....................
Heck...in Texas you can find a good, rust free, 4x4 for nothing.....AND they are everywhere as you might have seen...might want to see about gettin a one way ticket and drive it back....might be worth it in the long run.....My 2 cents!
I found a 69 F-250 4x4, rebuilt 390, some go fast goodies. The cab is in excellent condition, no rust, but the box has some minor rust.It has a Dana 44 up front, a 60 out back, dana 24 t-case and a NP435 tranny. The guy is asking 1400$/negotiable.Drop me a line at:jackboot_thug_79(No Email Addresses In Posts!), if youre interested Ill pass the guys phone # on to you
hey sgt go to www.unclehenrys.com it's a buy/sell/trade publication put out up here in the tri-state area (ME, NH, VT) they always have a ton of old trucks in it and alot of them are in good mechanical order and cost less than 2 grand. the only downside is it'll probably end up being in maine. if you go this route email me back (frankdubb(No Email Addresses In Posts!)) if you find one and i could check it out for ya since i'm already here
SGT a guy in my area had 2 67 fords for sale for $700.00 for the pair. I can try to find his e-mail if you want me to.
