Hi all,
I figure that this is pretty common here, but it is fairly specific. I am looking for the perfect tuner/programmer for my truck (in sig). As everyone else, I don't want to spend too much. Also, I don't have any special gauges, so I would like one that would monitor EGT, boost, tranny temp, etc. Also, I don't really know the benefits of programmer vs. tuner. I do some towing, a small boat (about 3000#) and horses (about 8000#). What is the best one out there for me that won't break the bank? One more question, is it possible to buy these things used?
Thanks,
Jack
I would second the DP tuner, lot of people here are running them but as it has not monitor it would be good to get gauges. I also second the NO K&N filter as I have been reading a lot of different test and they do let dirt in. I like 6637 for the fact that its almost plug and play. Here is a link to some air filter tests.
As a newbie, I like my Edge, its cheap and easy to use. I understand you need have your truck completly set up with all mods for you specific application when you order your DP-tuner so they can burn it to your needs. But again I am new to the PSD so for now I use Edge, as I get more into my truck I will upgrade to a DP.
All ican say is I LOVE my DP Tuner. I went from 15 mpg to 20. Gotta love tht with todays fuel prices. You can also get which features you want. Call Jody & I think you will be pleasently surprised
DP tuner all the way, great product, great service, friendly ppl... I started out with a superchips programmer and it was child's play compared to the DP.

Good point... BUT with the new F6 you can get what you want for what you have right now and then upgrade it later just by plugging it into your home PC. Give Jody a call after you do some other mods and he will send you new programs that will match your upgraded truck...
All right, it sounds like DP. But, I will need gauges. Which are the best, within reason without spending too much money.
Thanks,
Jack
ISSPRO, DiProcol, & Autometer are the top 3 gauges to look for. You can find ebay cheapies (glowshift) but they are crap. Those top 3 pretty much perform the same, it's just personal preference on which ones you choose. I have ISSPRO gauges with triple pod on the pillar. Most guys on here that have made the move from isspro's to Diprocol's seem to like the Diprocols better.
