Just as the post says guys. Any news on 09's? I have an 09 FX4 ordered for a while that is supposed to be in at the end of the month. Thats only a couple weeks away - thought that there would be the odd one around by now.
Anxious to here the changes that you don't read about, but always seem to find their way into new model years.( I am aware of the publizied changes)
I know production was delayed this summer, but my dealer still says end of the month - maybe he's not up to date. Let me know if anyone sees one. Thanks!
My 09 F550 was built on 10/9/8 (thanks for the info PowerstrokeHD) and should be at the upfitter next week. I'll take pics when it arrives. It is Royal red with black leather. Lloyd
I thought about it very seriously. I had a 3 valve V10 before and loved it. Quiet, smooth, powerful, winter friendly, and cheap to maintain. If I have any problems with the 6.4 the next time I get a truck it'll be the V10 and the heck with the mileage.
A 550 with a blown 6.4 would put me out of business. After 87,000 miles of a POS 6.0, I've decided to go V10, like my backup truck. It has 140,000 miles, and two years problems = 1 $80 coil pack. 2 years of the 6.0 repairs are well over $16,000, and it needs to go back in again for headgaskets (2nd time) And it does have ARP's! I have to be done with these newer diesels, if I'm going to stay in business!
My Sterling Gray/Ebony (Black) Leather, F350, 6.4L, Lariat, CC, LB (built 09/23) was off the train yesterday. It will be ready for delivery Monday or Tuesday!!!
Yeah I am debating getting the 6.4 due to the dramatic difference in reliability verses the v10. My 99 V10 never let me down on any cross contry trip, I hear a lot of stories of broke down diesels and their owners stuck waiting for repairs. BTW I worked for a company with a v10 550, insulated box, and a reefer w/ compressor driven by the v10. It weighed 9500 empty and often went out with 16,000 pounds of bakery supplies for city delivery. Last I checked it had 185,000 on it and biggest engine repair was a coil or two sensor.
