My buddy had a 1990 Ford F350 460 5 speed. It has a check engine light that pops on and off every now and again. It seems to only come on once the truck is hot, no unusual pattern......
how might I pull the code on it? Obviously a code scanner but where do you connect it? Thanks in advance . I've worked on ford trucks for years so I am very mechanically inclined but pulling a code is way easier than searching for days to find the issue.
Yeah Im almost 100% sure its the EGR valve sticking same problem happened to someone I know and got the codes read and thats what it was EGR valve sticking get unstuck or you have to replace it
hey guys I found the problem! pulled the codes at autozone with a scanner and it turns out it was code 119- Low VAT sensor voltage. Changed sensor old one was covered with oil. New one; Runs awesome . The VAT from what I understand measures the incoming air temp, and adjusts fuel mixtures to suit it. Thanks for all the help guys!
